Based in the historic and beautiful medieval city of Canterbury, Sounds New Contemporary Music Festival occupies a unique place in the promotion of classical contemporary music in the South East of England. It strives to provide excellence - and excitement - and fun!

Sounds New is about Contemporary Music, Sounds New is about excitement and freedom of artistic expression, Sounds New is about creating dynamic and challenging programmes, Sounds New is about the promotion of the Art of our Time. Sounds New's programming includes visual events, films, installations, talks, education and outreach projects, newly commissioned works as well as many other UK and World Premieres, also broadcast on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3 and the European Broadcasting Unit.

From sheer cutting edge to fun and jazz, from late-nite gigs to beautiful concerts in the Cathedral, Sounds New has something for everyone! With always a new sound in Sounds New, Sounds New is the Festival for YOU!
